The future of storytelling

We recently learned in class about digital storytelling. Storytelling has always been a huge part of our history. How it is done, however, has evolved. Digital storytelling is basically telling a story through technology. It can be done through many devices. People may ask,"Why digital storytelling?" Well we learned that answer in class. Digital storytelling allows shy children to speak their mind in a creative way. It helps develop communication skills, critical thinking skills, and creativity. It also helps children to learn how to reflect, it is a reflective process. It is rich in opportunities for supporting language. There are many different apps that are available for digital storytelling. My favorites are Toontastic and Sock Puppets. I think that digital storytelling is the future of storytelling. I think doing this in a classroom can help many different types of learners. It can also be used for assessment. Digital storytelling gets to let students use technology to show what they have learned in the classroom. It keeps them engaged and excited during the lesson that digital storytelling is being used. I cannot wait to use this in my practicum class. I cannot wait to learn how to use these and play around with these as well. Digital storytelling is the future of storytelling and will only continue to evolve.
