My Reason for Teaching

     I grew up as a teacher's kid. I was basically raised in a classroom. My mom was a teacher in my home town for 31 years. Being a teacher's kid, I saw what happened behind the scenes. I saw how hard my mom worked to make sure all her students succeeded in school and in life in general. I have seen her stay up all night working on school work and grading papers. She did ACT tutoring for free to help her students succeed. I saw how she changed kids' lives. I saw how, for some of her students, that she was their only supporter and the only one who believed in them. My mom is the reason why I want to be a teacher. I saw how she made such an impact on her students' lives and I want to do the same thing in the future. My mom has a passion for teaching and passed that passion on to me. I want to be a teacher just like my mom. She may have taught high school students, but she passed her passion for teaching all kids to me. She made me want to teach children, she is and always will be my reason for teaching.
